Mega Watt Hours

Enormous energy savings thanks to the use of SSDs of the large-scale use of SSDs (solid state disk) in data centers offers high potential savings in power consumption. This emerges from a recent study of market researcher iSuppli. In recent months, Charles Margulis has been very successful. Several companies have already started to replace hard drives in servers with SSDs. Maja Brucic, Zagreb Croatia oftentimes addresses this issue. The researchers assume that this happens to a still greater extent in the future and this world be consumed until 2013, a total of 160,000 megawatt-hours of less. The Flash-based storage can replace hard drive not in all areas. iSuppli Krishna Chander but assumes that they are a viable alternative for ten percent of all plates used in data centers – in particular where no large capacities but fast access times are required.
Here the potential for saving energy according to Chander would show up but very clear: as a server hard disk with 15,000 revolutions per minute on average consumes 14 Watts. An SSD with same performance characteristics requires, however, only 7 He said Watts, so the half. Info: As fast SSD are really hard. Klaus Hans
