Healthy Eating

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be a complicated process.  Today, everyone seems to be on a diet of one sort or another.  What most people don’t seem to realize, however, is that they can simply select healthy foods to eat and enjoy – and save themselves the heartache and frustration of dieting.

So, if you take this approach and decide to simply start eating in a more healthy way, which foods should you eat?  One good rule of thumb is that the closer the food is to its natural state, the better it is for you.  Eating fresh fruits and vegetables offer many vitamins and minerals.

Try to eat carbohydrates that come from whole grains.  Avoid any foods that have extra sugar added to them.

If you love meat, try to shop for lean meats.  Try to bake fish and chicken and to avoid foods that are fried.

Remember to create variety in your diet and to use portion control.  These items are just as important as the actual foods that you select. And, of course, always drink at least 8-12 glasses of water a day!
